What makes Tigerlily & Rose different from other miniatures wallpaper?

Tigerlily & Rose was started by a professional textile designer who works in the high end decorator market. The designs in our collection show a sophistication in layout, presentation, and color that often is found only for sale in designer showrooms. All of our original designs are conceived, painted, and detailed specifically for the miniature scale. By using state-of-the-art digital manufacturing, we can offer papers with an extraordinary range and number of colors, in a variety of scales.  We also offer custom sizes for that special project where a standard size might necessitate a seam in just the wrong place.

Color is one of the characteristics that you may find special when you use our papers. A single design is offered in a range of colorways - you select a design that you like in a colorway that fits with your room's decor. We also coordinate the warmth and hue of the colors across the entire collection. Should you choose to use our papers together in a single room or in more than one room, you can be confident that the overall effect will be aesthetically pleasing.

Can I match the colors on my screen to my project?

Accurate colormatching can be problematic when attempted from a computer screen. Each and every monitor is different, and the process of illuminating pixels on a computer monitor is fundamentally different from light reflecting off a printed colored surface. Although we've designed our on-line catalog to provide a reasonably good representation of the colors we offer in the collection, we strongly recommend that you check your local miniatures shop and ask if they carry our products.

Will the wallpaper fade or yellow?

Tigerlily & Rose has built in a number of safeguards to minimize the likelihood of fading and yellowing. We manufacture our wallpapers from premium quality, pH-neutral ("acid-free") paper and ink to minimize the incidence of yellowing over time. We also print only with pigmented, UV inks instead of dye-based inks and match these inks to papers coated specifically to accept them. We offer a product that should resist fading for years to come.

Despite the safeguards we have incorporated into our product design, some fading is inevitable over prolonged periods of exposure to bright light. We recommend that you store your wallpaper covered and flat. It should be kept away from light, heat and moisture and left in its plastic shipping sleeve.

How should I adhere it to my walls?

We recommend that you use a water-based paste and follow the directions provided by the manufacturer. Yasutomo's Nori paste is a non-toxic, acid free paste that dries clear and cleans easily. We offer it for resale for use with our papers. Apply a primer to the walls before papering .

Please do not use solvent-based adhesives (rubber cement, spray-mount photo adhesive, etc.) as it tends to darken the print along the edges.

What happens if the wallpaper gets wet?

Don't worry - though we recommend minimizing its exposure to moisture, our ink will not run and the paper is heavy stock  that  will not fall apart should you inadvertently sprinkle or dab it with water. We've applied it using Builder's Choice Wallpaper Gel and found no permanent marks from dabbing excess drips off the printed surface (avoid rubbing the printed image).

Are your designs available in half-scale?

Yes. We offer our designs in both 1:12 and 1:24 scales. Our designs are created specifically for the miniature market and they scale beautifully without loss of detail using our advanced digital printing techniques.

I have a big room to paper in my full-scale house, so I don't think your standard double-wide sheet is going to be enough. I just need a little more to finish. Do I have to buy a whole other double-wide sheet?

No, we also offer sheets in the "industry standard" 11" x 17" size that have been laid out deliberately to match the larger sheets with a slight (approximately 0.5") overlap. This enables you to buy just the paper you need - minimal waste.

What if I need a special size or I want a custom scale?

By all means, please contact us directly with your specific requirements. Our advanced digital printing techniques allow us to scale our designs easily and currently we can print product up to 34" wide by 60" long (or anything in between). Prices for non-standard sizes are based on the area (length x width) of the printed image.

I'd like to carry your paper in my shop, but my displays and my storage cabinets are all designed for the industry's 11"x17" size. Do you offer your products in this size as well?

Yes, though exclusively to shopowners. If the 11"x34" size sheets won't fit in your shop displays, you can order "industry standard" 11"x17" sheets instead. And, if at some point in the future you'd like to carry the larger sheets, rest assured that the designs and colors are all the same. In fact, the 11"x17" sheets are laid out to match the larger sheets with a slight overlap (approximately 0.5") to minimize waste thereby maximizing value to your customers.

Shipping, handling, tax

How much do you charge for shipping and handling?

Click this link to view our Shipping Table. If you use PayPal to pay for your order using a credit card, the shopping cart will calculate the shipping and add it to your total. If you chose to pay by check, our on-line order form assistant will calculate the charge for you and add it to your total.

These amounts are for shipment within the U.S.A. Please contact us for shipping rates outside of the U.S.A.

How will my order be shipped?

We ship the vast majority of our orders via United States Postal Service Priority Mail or First Class in flat mailers for 11" x 17" products and sturdy tube mailers for 11" x 34". Large quantity orders may be shipped via Federal Express or UPS Second Day at our discretion. When ordered separately, Swatch cards are shipped USPS first class mail.

Can I track an order?

Orders shipped via U.S. Mail are shipped with a Delivery Confirmation number. Orders shipped UPS or FedEx receive a tracking number. If you provide us with your e-mail address, we will send you your number that you can use on the carrier's website. In the event that a package does not arrive within a reasonable period of time or arrives in an unsatisfactory condition, please notify us at your earliest convenience and we will rectify the problem.

Can I order if I live outside the U.S.A.?

We are happy to ship anywhere in the world. The shipping and handling charges shown are for shipment within the U.S.A. Please contact us for shipping and handling charges to your country.

How long will it take to get my order?

We strive to fill and ship orders within two business days upon receipt of the order. For orders paid by check, we do reserve the right to hold an order until your check clears. If you provide us with your email address, we will notify you via email within 2 business days confirming the receipt of the order and an estimated ship date.  USPS quotes a two to three day target for Priority Mail shipments (though not guaranteed). FedEx and UPS guarantee two business days on their parcels.

Do I pay sales tax?

If you ask us to ship to an address in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, we are required by law to collect a 5% sales tax (merchandise plus shipping). If you use PayPal to pay for your order using a credit card, the shopping cart will calculate this tax and add the charge to your final total. If you choose to pay by check, our on-line order form assistant will calculate the charge for you and add it to your total.

What if I don't want to set up a PayPal account?

PayPal now allows customers to opt-out of signing up for a PayPal membership when you pay for your order. The payment process is as follows: 
  1. Enter your name and shipping address.
  2. You will be prompted for your credit card, email address, and phone number.
  3. (Optional) After reviewing your information, you may choose to save your information by creating a PayPal account.

Do you accept payments from outside of the U.S.A.?

We can accept all of the same forms of payment outlined above from people outside of the U.S.A. Funds must be in US dollars and checks must be drawn on US banks. Those that are not will be returned and the order will be cancelled. Be sure to contact us, though, regarding the correct shipping total.

What if I want to purchase the items in my cart later?

From one visit to the next, your shopping cart will retain items added to it. So, feel free to add as many items as you like to the cart, knowing that they do not need to be purchased and that they will be waiting for you there the next time you come to our site.
